Hi, I'm Patricia Ductan — and I believe therapy should feel like coming home.
A licensed mental health counselor walking alongside adults and couples through life's most tender chapters.
Therapy as a quiet practice of paying attention.
I came to this work after years of feeling like the inner world of thoughts, feelings, and habits was treated as something mysterious — discussed in metaphors, seldom mapped. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy changed that for me. It's structured but warm, practical but never reductive. It treats you as the expert on your own life and gives us a shared language for the work ahead.
In session, I move slowly. I ask a lot of questions, listen for the patterns you may not have noticed yet, and — when the moment is right — invite you to try something small and concrete between meetings. The goal is not to add more to your week, but to slowly shift the weight of what's already there.
"Healing is not the arrival of a new self — it is the slow return to the one already there."
With individuals, I work most often with anxiety, depression, perfectionism, life transitions, and the relentless inner critic that whispers from the back of every room. With couples, I help partners untangle communication patterns, repair after ruptures, and rebuild the felt sense of being a team — drawing on Gottman-informed methods alongside CBT.
I believe deeply in evidence-based care, and equally in the irreducible humanity of every conversation. Research shows us what tends to work; you and I figure out what works for you.
Outside of session, you'll find me on long walks, tending to my two children, catching up on Netflix, or reading for leisure.
A practice grounded in rigor and ongoing study.
